Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit skyhoodmusic.com, contact us or subscribe to the Skyhood newsletter.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is Grzegorz Filiks-Adamowski, based in Poland, who operates this artist website as Skyhood, also known as Adam Mowski. For privacy questions and requests, email office@skyhoodmusic.com.
2. Newsletter subscriptions
The newsletter contains new releases, behind-the-scenes updates and artist news from Skyhood a.k.a. Adam Mowski. Signing up is optional. We ask for your email address and send a confirmation email. You must click its confirmation link before receiving the newsletter. You can browse the website and listen to previews without subscribing.
We process your email address, subscription status and list membership, together with records of signup, confirmation and withdrawal of consent. These records can include timestamps, the signup source and IP addresses. MailPoet also collects the browser time zone for delivery scheduling. Delivery information, including failed deliveries and spam complaints, helps us operate the service and prevent abuse. If you voluntarily answer the unsubscribe survey, we also receive your chosen reason.
We send the newsletter on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. We retain necessary consent and suppression records to demonstrate permission, respect opt-outs and prevent unwanted mail, based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Each newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You may also withdraw consent by contacting office@skyhoodmusic.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. An unconfirmed address will not receive newsletter campaigns.
3. Email tracking
Newsletter engagement tracking is disabled. We do not use MailPoet to track which newsletters you open or which links you click, and its engagement-tracking cookies are disabled. Operational records such as confirmation, unsubscribe and delivery status are still processed so the service works.
4. Website operation and messages
When you visit the website, our hosting systems may record technical information such as your IP address, requested page, access time, browser details and errors. This supports delivery of the website, security and troubleshooting. The basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If you email us, we process your email address, message and any details you choose to provide in order to reply and handle your enquiry. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; where your message concerns steps towards a contract you request, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies.
5. Service providers and international processing
Our website and its database are hosted by LH.pl. We use MailPoet and the MailPoet Sending Service, part of the Automattic group, to manage subscriptions and deliver emails. These providers process the data needed to perform their services. Your email provider also receives messages sent to your address. We do not publish the subscriber list or sell it.
MailPoet uses infrastructure and service providers in Europe and the United States, so newsletter-related data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Automattic describes safeguards for international transfers, including European Commission-approved standard contractual arrangements, in its Privacy Policy. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data. See also MailPoet’s information about data processing and storage.
6. How long data is kept
We keep active subscription information while you remain subscribed and the newsletter operates. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; it does not automatically erase the record. Limited consent, unsubscribe and suppression records may remain where needed to demonstrate permission, honour your opt-out, resolve complaints or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Correspondence is kept for the time needed to resolve the enquiry and any related claims. Technical and delivery records are kept for operational, security and troubleshooting needs. The appropriate retention period depends on the purpose, unresolved issues and applicable legal limitation periods; data should no longer be retained once those needs end. Copies in provider backups remain subject to their backup cycles. MailPoet states that sending-service email logs are erased after three months; this is separate from the subscriber records stored on this website.
You can request deletion at office@skyhoodmusic.com. If a limited record must be retained for a lawful reason, we will explain this when responding.
7. Cookies and browser storage
The website uses browser storage to remember whether you have entered the site during the current session, your background-animation preference and cached waveform data for the music player. You can clear this storage in your browser settings. The site may then ask you to enter again or reload the waveform.
WordPress uses necessary cookies for administrator sign-in and preferences. The newsletter form uses built-in anti-spam protection, which may ask you to complete a CAPTCHA. Newsletter signup does not require a WordPress account.
8. Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your personal data, and data portability where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw newsletter consent at any time. Contact office@skyhoodmusic.com to exercise these rights. We may need to verify that the request comes from the person concerned.
You may lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Poland (UODO), or with the competent supervisory authority where you live or work. We do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
9. External links and updates
Links to services such as Instagram, SoundCloud, Spotify and Beatport take you to websites with their own privacy policies. This policy covers skyhoodmusic.com.
We will update this page when our processing practices change. The date above identifies the current version. A policy update does not by itself give us consent to send you a newsletter or introduce optional tracking.
